Huw Williams

The Horse painter, Huw was born in North Wales in 1968. He now lives with his wife and daughter on a farm in Perthshire, where his studio overlooks the paddock in which they keep their family horses. He attended Wrexham College in 1985 completing an Art and Design course, before moving onto Newcastle-upon-Tyne University 1986-89, where he achieved a degree in Fine Art.

He received his first commission in 1991 by a private collector to paint his horse, then until 1998 he has completed over 200 commissions from private collectors to paint their horses.

Prince Charles presented a commission piece in 1998 of "Five Bitch Hounds" to the retiring Huntsman of the Quorn hunt in Leicestershire.
