Jennifer MacKenzie

Jennifer is originally from Lanarkshire, she graduated from the Glasgow School of
Drawing & Painting in the early 1970 then going on to qualify as a teacher from
Jordanhill College. She then went onto teach art and design in various schools in
Lanarkshire, Inverness and Surtherland.

Leaving teaching in 2001 she has become a full time professional artist, working from
her studio in Sutherland. Her paintings are a response to her environment, in
terms of colour, light and space in the Scottish tradition. She enjoys exploring colour and
the tactile qualities of oil paint mainly through still life.
